Notifications when added

Hi,

I have this automation:

The weird thing is, the Subject of the email we get is:

Changes to SHEETNAME: + PRIMARY COLUMN entry.

But, it's not a change, but a new entry.

I know I can create a custom message, but it just seems weird to me that the standard message is like this. Is it incorrect? Do I have a setting incorrect?

Additionally, having the whole primary column entry in the notification-email subject is weird too I guess.

Any suggestions other than custom message?

    Hi @MPath

    - I would run a manual after changing the trigger to a specific field instead of any field because when a row is added or deletes change is occurring across the entire sheet.
    - I would also check the 'Message Includes' section and test with alternating flags.

    @Yvonne Smythe Oh yeah, wow. Now that you mention that if would also trigger when something is deleted I realise I have quite a few sheets I need to alter! Thanks.

    No sure what you meant with

    Re: Alternating Flags: See how you would prefer your notification mail to look. Message only, message w/specific fields mentioned, message with all fields and links.

    Ah right, yes thanks. Have done so. I ended up making a custom message, but have altered the triggerfield for it

    It shouldn't trigger when a row is deleted because your trigger specifies when a row is added. This is also true for a row that has data changed after being added. It shouldn't trigger a notification either.

    You shouldn't have to adjust anything to avoid false triggers on deleted rows.

    Well, that saves me a buttocksload of work ;)

    I have to say I never did get any notifications triggered when deleting a row and have been using SmartS for over a year now. In another decade I might be up there with Paul, skills wise ;)
