Hello
Surprised to see users can enter over 100% in %Complete column.
I tried to constrain with pull downs but that isn't allowed for project dependencies...
Any thoughts?

While the column name is "% Complete", the formatting is based on percent and there is no constraints in the column for range.
It struck me as odd when I first starting using Smartsheet, but I got used to it.
Maybe they will add data validation on Text/Number and this could be user defined, but I am not betting on it.
Craig
Thanks Craig
Odd indeed, especially since the column is part of project tracking dependencies!
Originally, the Duration column was not marked as special column -- it was just a Text/Number column with the Duration features. Maybe they will do the same with % Complete.
Could definitely use this. Currently I have a special auto-formatting rule set up to highlight when a % Complete cell is greater than 100%, but as all formatting rules create a processing burden on your sheets - it would be much nicer if this could simply be handled with a limit.
As long as the limit is not universally imposed, I'm all for constraints/validations on a column level (like restricted drop down lists)
Hello, I'm working through the writing formulas optional activity and in the 'Nested IF function - Progress Column' task it directs you to put in the following formula '=IF([% Complete]@row = 0, “Empty”)'. However, when I put this formula into the spreadsheet, '04a_Marketing Request Tracker - Formulas', I get an…
I have an automation that has a condition where I am looking at the column "LEA Interco Supporting Site(s)" and trying to find columns that have the value "Fort Loramie" in them. This works well when "Fort Loramie" is the first item listed in the cell, but it doesn't work when "Fort Loramie" is the second or third value in…
Have any of you created a Smartsheet that would show the savings for a project by the month? In other words, if I saved $1200 annually and the project ended in say March, then the savings would go $120 per month, Mar 2025-Feb 2026. I have done it on Excel sheets manually, but I think there should be a way to do it with…
