Why cant a shared editor enter a column?
Do you mean enter data in an existing column?
Is it locked?
Or do you mean add a new column?
Because that's the way the developers chose to implement it.
Think of "Editor" as "Editor of the data in the sheet" and "Admin" as "Administrator of the structure of the sheet"

Hope that helps.
