Enhancement Request: Allow downloading Activity Log
Allow some means to download the Activity Logs from one or more objects that support the logs.
This could either be locally when viewing the source or buried in the Account Admin menu if determined to be a SysAdmin function.
We do not yet have access to the data via the API (I posted on stackoverflow requesting this)
I have two use cases:
Compliance:
Weekly dump of the Activity Logs, consolidate, and provide compliance metrics during initial adoption of the system.
Non-Compliance:
Weekly dump of the Activity Logs, consolidate, and provide compliance metrics and comparison to user list to determine non-compliance/resistance during initial adoption of the system.
Of course, those could continue after roll-out, but may be key to identifying areas of resistance to adoption and things to be improved early in the process.
My primary goal is currently NON-COMPLIANCE. I believe I have a work-around for this using Zapier, and may always need to have some sort of work-around as proving a negative (ie someone did not check a box when they should have) is harder that proving a positive (the box was checked before the due date).

it would be much better if all this can stay in Smartsheet rather than introduce 3rd part Apps but maybe the Smartsheet Dev team can help here?

I too would prefer most of the functionality in Smartsheet itself.
I can determine if the edge cases are worth spending effort to develop for my own uses.

We are driven by what our clients NEED, so Whatever it takes to make them happy has to be the answer?

Oh let's not get crazy.
We all want free (or very inexpensive), now (or very soon), and everything (or that we can think of at the moment).
The Activity Log is part of a critical piece of what our customer in Indiana needs (who did what, when).
What Smartsheet has delivered is a big part of that, but only the first step. What we can do is: see it. What our customer needs is to put it before an auditor and prove it, sometimes years later.

The activity log is a very useful feature and an export option for tracking cell changes would be extremely helpful. We have multiple projects that move simultaneously. Currently, changes are made in one project and then a report is created in order to capture all of the changes. It is then sorted and the changes are copied to the rest of the projects within the live report.

The best way is to resubmit the enhancement using the "Submit Product Enhancement Request" link to the right (under Quick Links).
I just copy the URL and add any further reasons to the Form when I submit it.

Working for state government and having a title like accreditation and accountability coordinator. I am often asked to show who did what (or didn't) and exporting the activity log would be quite helpful. As it is, because SaaS cannot be our system of record, we have to regularly export our sheets for freedom of information act purposes. If we get a records request and access to our sheets is down, we would be out of compliance legally. Being able to export the activity log - even automatically like once a month would be very helpful!!

I have Smartsheets connected to Tableau using the Web Data Connector, and I was wondering if there is a way to capture the activity log in this as well?
I'm looking to even have a regularly scheduled extract of the activity log if possible, if live is not available.
Or at least finding a way to extract multiple sheets actibity simultaenously. We have over 90 sheets that need to be extracted, and to do all 90 regularly is quite a hassle.
