Hi,

I have created a few charts on smartsheets labs, i am however getting this error on certain columns:

All series on a given axis must be of the same data type

These columns are the only ones to have negative values (-30 etc).

So my first question is does the smartlabs charts allow negative values.

My second question is even when i remove the negative values from the data range for the chart i still get the same message.

All columns have same data type: text/numbers.

Example:

-2,900.0

-1,725.0

-2,099.9

-957.5

-540.3

-1,340.6

Thanks

    Hi,

You might be interested in our charting functionality that is built into Smartsheet. Details on this can be found in our help center: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2476691-compare-live-data-with-a-chart

Our labs apps are considered experimental—subject to bugs/issues, and they can be discontinued at any time without notice.

With that being said, you might double-check your values to see if any of the other characters in your values are causing them to be treated as text. One way to quickly spot numbers apart from text (including numbers that are made to look like text), is to see how they're aligned in the cells of your sheet grid. If they're aligned to the right, they're numbers. If they're aligned to the left, they're text and you should remove any commas, periods, or negative symbos that may be causing them to be treated as text.
