Resource Management: Regional Public Holidays

Official Public Holidays in Resource Management are not helpful when team members work across different states or countries. The ability to define Public Holidays based on team member location (automatically would be best) is needed. The Location of each team member is defined in their profile. Use this to update the public holidays that apply to them.

Currently we have to upload the public holiday dates one by one into the Resource Management.

Can we have a bulk update/import for public holidays for easy yearly updates?

Over here in Malaysia, we have many holidays all year round and it is rather time consuming to input one date a time.

I am not sure if this idea has been listed, if yes, please add my vote to it. I am unable to scroll through all the ideas to avoid duplicate, and I did not see any Resource Management item being tagged yet. Thanks.

We have about 100 employees in a variety of regions. We would love to be able to add Official Holidays based on Location (as reference above) and set official holidays applicable to Location.

Alternatively, but less desirable is to have a Leave option which could be assigned to a group based on their location (rather than just discipline and role). However, this requires someone to manually go in for each and every holiday across the globe every year.

Resource Manager and Smartsheet needs a much higher level of integration. When Creating accounts in Smartsheet I can select if they are a Group Admin, or a Resource Viewer for internal to SS. We should also see a selection to add them to RM when a user is required to be a part of that platform. RM should be using the account created in SS to create/maintain the account in RM. RM should also be able to pull the defined Holidays from SS automatically.

I want the ability to configure holidays to certain regions only (instead of company-wide), otherwise this feature is not helpful.

Separate for US, Canada, Ireland, Australia and Singapore

We would like to request enhancements to Resource Management (RM) to improve its functionality for global teams:

Country-Specific Holidays
Currently, any holiday added in RM applies to all resources company-wide, with no option to assign holidays to specific countries or groups. This limitation creates challenges for multinational organizations. We propose introducing a feature that allows holidays to be set based on location, enabling more accurate scheduling without impacting all users.
Multi-Currency Support
RM only supports a single currency at a time, which requires manual conversion of budgets and bill rates for international projects. We request the ability to work with multiple currencies within the same account, allowing for more accurate financial reporting and reducing the risk of conversion errors.

These features would greatly improve RM’s flexibility for global organizations managing distributed teams and international projects. Please let us know if there are any plans for these enhancements. Thank you!

I would like to add team public holidays into the setup for Resource Manager. Right now it seems if you add a holiday it populates on all resources in Resource Management. We are a global team so we need a way to add Public Holidays by country or region.

For the multinational companies it is very time-consuming to enter manually public holidays for each country. It would be very helpful if the automatic upload is enabled at the beginning of every year.

Multicurrency support is critical for reporting for all companies working with different currencies.

As I am working in a multi site company, this is an essential feature. And I believe many companies that use Smartsheet are multinational. 10 Votes for this at least ;-)…. Please implement as soon as possible…. Smartsheet is powerful but in certain areas some basic features are not available and giving us headaches and internal discussions. It would be beneficial if the basics are done before implementing new extensions like AI, Dashboard coloring etc…. This would further extend the acceptance rate of using Smartsheet versus other tools. Thanks so much

I am now facing this issues and it is really causing us a problem. We are not able to use resourcing due to this as we cannot forecast. Has there been any developments on this topic or has anyone found a workaround? Someone advised to build a regional holiday sheet and then link it to resourcing via Control Panel on the right, but that option does not exist
