We currently use Smartsheet automated Update Requests to collect status updates from users. The user receives an email, selects the Open Request link, and is taken to a page where they can submit updates such as:
- Uploading an attachment
- Adding a comment
- Selecting a status from a dropdown field
Our specific question is about the dropdown selection. When a user selects a new status from the dropdown and submits the Update Request, is that action considered an edit to the sheet?
If so, would the user be required to have a Member seat or paid license under the current licensing model, even though the update is being submitted through an automated Update Request rather than by opening and editing the sheet directly?
We would also appreciate confirmation on whether adding comments or attachments through the same Update Request is treated differently for licensing purposes.
