Cell Automatically Updating without Automation & Dependencies are Off

Users submit a request by form to a sheet, it has a status column with multiple selections. Once the request is addressed, the status is updated by another user. The sheet is making a decision to automatically update that status when the row is added. There is also an unrelated date column in the sheet that the sheet chose to populate at the same time, also irrelevant.

There is no automation in place to update this status and dependencies are turned off in this sheet. It's pretty basic. This started happening this week 8/24/26.

I've seen similar reports from other users and other problems, so it seems there are multiple ongoing issues that might be connected.

Let's hope it's resolved soon.

If you haven't already, I recommend submitting a support ticket through the new Smartsheet Support Portal.
