Umlaut encoding issue after form submissions

I’m having a problem with Umlauts (ä, ö, ü, etc.) not displaying correctly in Smartsheet following form submissions.

The issue impacts all fields and seems to occur during the data ingestion from a form to the sheet. It started recently, even though I haven’t changed any settings. My personal regional setting is German.

Not all form users are affected.
Any ideas on where this encoding mismatch might be coming from?

I've seen similar reports from other users.

If you haven't already, I recommend submitting a support ticket through the new Smartsheet Support Portal.
The more tickets they receive about similar issues, the quicker they can identify the issue and implement a fix.
