Automation not Automating

Hi all,

I have a sheet with automation:

Trigger: When Rows are Added or Changed (when 'Project' changes to 'xxx')
Copy rows to.. (defined sheet)
Run workflow: when triggered

Initially this worked a treat.

But, when testing, I had to manually run the automation. Ever since then, it only works if I manually run it on the new rows, defeating the object of it being automated.

I don't want to run the whole thing again so that the rows are duplicated onto the sheets they're copying to

Any ideas how I can get it back to run automatically once the rows are changed.

I've seen similar reports from other users.

Can you share a screenshot of the Workflow?

If you haven't already, I recommend submitting a support ticket through the new Smartsheet Support Portal.
The more tickets they receive about similar issues, the quicker they can identify the issue and implement a fix.

How exactly is the [Project] column being populated?

Katie, is the automation running (essentially) correctly (ie. new row added then copies to other sheet) but duplicating the copy/send function over and over?

This is happening to my sheets (that have been running for years at this point) for the last couple days only - one new row is being copied multiple times .. non-stop.

I'm going to put in a ticket for mine because this is a new glitchy behaviour, and if the automation itself is functioning correctly, you shouldn't be seeing those duplicates as a normal occurrence, don't worry. You shouldn't have to manually run it once this glitch is fixed.

Hi, I have suffered the same issue. I set up an automation that is used for copying added rows to another sheet. It worked fine. But in the last 2-3 days, it will copy one row for mutiple times. There is an around 10-min interval between each automation run.

It's been that way since I set the sheet up.

No, nothing is happening.

No new rows are being copied despite meeting the criteria for the automation.

It was running great but then I had to do a manual update as part of testing (I've got stuff shooting off to lots of different sheets so needed to do some tweaks) and it's not run at all since then.

If that dropdown is manually selected, I would suggest reaching out to Support. Especially if it was working before you did the manual run and then stopped after.
