Good Morning,
I'm very new to smartsheet. I have been going through some tutorials and making some sheets etc. From what I understand you can share your sheet with others even if they are not a paid subscriber. Are they able to make changes to the sheet as long as you give them permission to? This is my main purpose of wanting to use smartsheet so want to confirm this information before I subscribe. Thanks for any assistance!
Hi,
You can share the sheet, and they can change the information but not the structure of the sheet.
I hope this helps you!

Yes, if you set users as editors on a sheet they will be able to edit the content on the sheet. Without having a paid license. What they won't be able to do is add or manipulate columns on the sheet. Here is a breakdown of what each type of user gets to do.

Hi
I've got a situation where my unsubscribed user isnt able to create "comment" in sheet.
I've got 6 users : 4 (susbribed) and 2(unsubsribed)
Strangely enough, 1 of my unsubscribed user were able to make comment in the sheet, and another 1 unable to create comment in the sheet
I've escalated this issue to smartsheet 4 days ago, but no reply.
I'd really appreciate if someone could advise me on this issue
Cheers
Hi @Andrea Yuriza
What plan type are you on? If you're on a Pro Plan, unlicensed/unsubscribed users will see shared sheets as View Only. Here's an article that details how sharing works on a Pro Plan: Sharing and widgets in the Pro plan
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Genevieve
Hi All, I have a ProPlan and have shared a couple of sheets with a colleague, a project administrator who does not have a licence. I have granted Editor - can not share permissions. However she is not unable to update the sheet, i.e. click check boxes to say if a task is complete. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be?
Hi @JFaulkner
I hope you're well and safe!
It's a limitation in the Pro Plan. (see details below)
Sheets owned by Pro Plan users can only be edited by licensed users within that account.
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Excellent!
Happy to help!
Is there a way to revert to the old dashboard look and feel. The new dashboards do not look good at all. There is no way of knowing if there are additional items in the widgets until you scroll over one to learn there is more to it since the vertical bar doesn't show. We have hundreds of dashboards and they will all need…
When i try to send or print the timeline view instead of showing the progression bars like they do on the screen it only send the data entered and not a graph type view to print. Is there a way to do this. I am using a mac platform if that helps.
I have reproduced the following behavior in a validated Smartsheet application. User permission: Editor (not Admin) Row status: Locked (confirmed via row menu displaying "Unlock Row") Text, Date, Contact List, and Checkbox columns cannot be modified. Dropdown List columns remain editable. Selecting a new dropdown value and…
