When applying a filter in smartsheet and then exporting the filtered results, it exports the whole sheet included filtered out rows. This is really annoying because in this way the filtering does not help you at all. Can this be fixed please?

Hi Geert,
As you've found, the entire sheet will be exported even if a filter is applied to the sheet. At this time, there isn't a way to export the filtered view of a sheet. When you have a moment, please submit a product enhancement request using the form under Quick links to the right of the community site to let our Product team know that you'd like to see this functionality added.
One thing that you might try is creating a report to pull in only the data that you want to be exported, then export the report.

I have the same problem and it's a bit frustrating. When I export to PDF or send a link to project team members for a sheet it always defaults back to the unfiltered view so there's several pages of closed line items and all I want to convey are the open action items.
There should be an option to retain filters when exporting instead of sending pages of closed/crossed out line items.
Any ideas without creating reports or adding more work to the process?
+1 this is a problem for me too. i need to be able to export filtered results. adding steps to create a report doesn't work for me. ETA of when this fix is coming? or smartsheet isn't interested in addressing our request?
Same problem here. We export daily deliveries for the next day and only way the data is useful is to resort and manually delete unwanted rows in Excel but that is of course prone to human error.
I will explore the reports option mentioned above and see if that can help.
Any update on the timeline when this will be fixed is greatly appreciated.

We love the features of Smartsheet. But to make it more effective and have a bigger user base, this Product feature is definitely needed.
For instance, I need to export the results of a Filtered report to a Power BI Dashboard. I have the necessary connectors. But there is no way I can just extract the data that is only needed for the Dashboard.
I will have to export the whole base form of the report, then remove the columns that are not needed. Hence automation which Smartsheet claims with other applications definitely fails.
Is there a way where this feature could be implemented sooner?

I would also like to export select rows. I hope Smartsheet will add this enhancement.
Another big miss for Smartsheet. What's the point of having a filter view if I can't print it? How do I share it with clients? The more I use this Smartsheet the more I find it is lacking very basic functionality that would be invaluable for its users. It's very disappointing. I've stumbled upon many of these threads searching for desired functionality from years ago that never seem to get addresses. Step it up.

New to SmartSheets and found this feed as I was having the same problem. If you filter and then save your sheet then the export will only pick up the filtered rows.
I can't believe that almost 3 years later this very obvious and simple enhancement has not been implemented. I now realize that filters are almost useless.
So four years later than the first query on this and we still can't export filtered results? Really Smartsheet...that's not smart.

Is there a way to revert to the old dashboard look and feel. The new dashboards do not look good at all. There is no way of knowing if there are additional items in the widgets until you scroll over one to learn there is more to it since the vertical bar doesn't show. We have hundreds of dashboards and they will all need…
When i try to send or print the timeline view instead of showing the progression bars like they do on the screen it only send the data entered and not a graph type view to print. Is there a way to do this. I am using a mac platform if that helps.
