Hello all,
I'm looking to count the number of "stars" within a column and have been testing with
=COUNTIF(check_column, "true"). This isn't working. Any ideas?
Hi Anthony,
You'll have to use "1" for true and "0" for false.
Did it work?
Have a fantastic week!

You will also need square brackets [ ] around your column name.
I think you also need to complete the column range, right?
=COUNTIF([check_column]:[check_column], 1)
Thank you everyone. Counting "stars" did not work.
I've changed the column data type to numbers.
Great support reactions here!!!
Happy to help!
If you still want to use stars instead.
Try this.
=COUNTIF([Star Column]:[Star Column]; 1)
The same version but with the below changes for your and others convenience.
=COUNTIF([Star Column]:[Star Column], 1)
Depending on your country you’ll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.
I tried all possible trial and error, finally got my desired outcome with below. It counted exactly the number of stars in each of the columns in the range I provided.
((COUNTIF(Development1:Collaboration1, ="five") * 5) + (COUNTIF(Development1:Collaboration1, ="four") * 4) + (COUNTIF(Development1:Collaboration1, ="three") * 3) + (COUNTIF(Development1:Collaboration1, ="two") * 2) + (COUNTIF(Development1:Collaboration1, ="one") * 1))
Good Luck!!!
Hi @Anitha
I hope you're well and safe!
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Anyway we can make this view only for security purposes? We would like to prevent users from sending responses to other users by accident.
I am currently setting up an automation for people to get notified through their email, when they are prompted. But is there a way that they can reply in the email of a comment that will then go to the specific sheet. This way they do not have access to the sheet, but can just comment through email with updates?
Is there a way to revert to the old dashboard look and feel. The new dashboards do not look good at all. There is no way of knowing if there are additional items in the widgets until you scroll over one to learn there is more to it since the vertical bar doesn't show. We have hundreds of dashboards and they will all need…
