I would like to create a new Card, without having to revert back Grid View. I found this: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2449494-card-view-creating-editing-and-sharing-cards
My Card View does not have any such "Add Card" icon. When I right-click an existing card, I see "Edit..." and "Delete", but now "Insert Above" or "Insert Below"
I am the Creator of this sheet.
Is there a trick to this?
That new icon should appear at the bottom of your list of cards. See Screenshot.
It does not on mine.
Are you viewing a published link? Or the actual sheet. IF you're viewing a link to the published report its possible you have no editing available on that sheet. Otherwise, I would contact Support to help you with the issue.
I'm viewing the actual sheet.
I'll ask support. It just takes them forever to respond...
That is so strange. All my test have the ability to add new cards. Have you reached the row limit of 5000 rows?
I noticed the same thing in my card view. I noticed when I have it set to show Level 2 cards, I don't have the add new card + at the bottom of the column. BUT when I change it to Level 1 or All Levels - the add new card + shows up.
Interesting. Thanks for that tip jmpbell!
jmpbell nailed it. It has to do with card levels. It shouldn't matter, but this is a limitation Smartsheet felt comfortable imposing.
Thanks!
Thanks for the response to this. I've been scouring the interwebs to find the solution. @smartsheetdev.io Please remove this limitation! It's more useful to view cards at the lowest level of tasks, and add them from here.
Anyway we can make this view only for security purposes? We would like to prevent users from sending responses to other users by accident.
I am currently setting up an automation for people to get notified through their email, when they are prompted. But is there a way that they can reply in the email of a comment that will then go to the specific sheet. This way they do not have access to the sheet, but can just comment through email with updates?
Is there a way to revert to the old dashboard look and feel. The new dashboards do not look good at all. There is no way of knowing if there are additional items in the widgets until you scroll over one to learn there is more to it since the vertical bar doesn't show. We have hundreds of dashboards and they will all need…
