I am creating a project template for my department to use for all projects. I have created drop menus to limit certain column entries to a controlled list of choices. I would like to do something similar to control how the user names a milestone. Is there a way to have a list of standard milestone names for the user to select when he/she creates and names a milestone?
Hi,
Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's not possible at the moment to control the names of the milestones, but it's a great idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.
Have a fantastic day!

Andree is correct. You cannot force a naming convention. But...
You could set up a hidden checkbox column. In that column you can write a formula to check if specific criteria is met. If it is met, the box checks. If it is NOT met, the box remains unchecked and an update request gets sent to the person entering the data (assuming you are capturing "Modified by" data in a system column). In that update request you can include instructions on how to name the milestone and have them rename it.
Once they submit the new name, it will hit against the checkbox again to verify that it is of the correct convention. If it is, cool. If it is not, they get another email saying they need to rename using the proper steps.
Is there a way to revert to the old dashboard look and feel. The new dashboards do not look good at all. There is no way of knowing if there are additional items in the widgets until you scroll over one to learn there is more to it since the vertical bar doesn't show. We have hundreds of dashboards and they will all need…
When i try to send or print the timeline view instead of showing the progression bars like they do on the screen it only send the data entered and not a graph type view to print. Is there a way to do this. I am using a mac platform if that helps.
I have reproduced the following behavior in a validated Smartsheet application. User permission: Editor (not Admin) Row status: Locked (confirmed via row menu displaying "Unlock Row") Text, Date, Contact List, and Checkbox columns cannot be modified. Dropdown List columns remain editable. Selecting a new dropdown value and…
