One of my goals this year was to minimize the amount of time and ultimately the doom-scrolling I can do on socials and online in general. So I set a goal to read at least one (1) book a month and to make sure I met it I joined a summer reading challenge with the Austin Public Library to hold myself accountable. The challenge was committing and tracking my reading at least 20 minutes a day for a month.

📚️I am proud to say I have read fourteen (14) books so far AND I beat the summer reading challenge with my local library! Shameless plug (and to show you proof) I am sharing a picture of my social post showing off the "reward" I received for completing the reading challenge. The Austin Public Library reshared my original post on their social handle and I got a ton of comments from the Austin community on my completion!😃The reward is a cool mug that promotes the Austin Public Library, in both English & Spanish, on a nice evergreen coffee mug!

School of Sheets is looking to contract a Smartsheet Content Creator with a focus on producing videos for our YouTube channel.

We are a Smartsheet Solutions partner with a focus on premium service, technical excellence, obsessive attention to detail, and superior customer service. For over 5 years we have been building custom Smartsheet Solutions for businesses of all sizes and industries.

About You

The successful candidate will:

Have strong experience implementing real world Smartsheet solutions independently,
Have working knowledge of YouTube strategy and best practices,
Have excellent communication skills,
Work with an obsessive attention to detail and pursuit of perfection.

About The Role

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

Researching ideas for in-demand Smartsheet video topics,
Recording videos professionally,
Responding to constructive criticism.

The ideal candidate will also be able to (but not required):

Edit videos professionally, add graphics, text boxes, etc.
Create captivating thumbnails,
Upload and manage videos,
Execute SEO and other YouTube best practices to ensure success.

Compensation

This will be a 1099 contractor hourly contractor position incentivized by performance on the below objectives:

Generate qualified leads to book discovery calls regarding our professional services,
Have viewers sign up for a free Smartsheet trial through our videos,
Increase the reach of the YouTube channel (views, subscribers, etc.).

Expect a relatively slow start with increased opportunities for additional work based on initial success.

Introduction from Beaumont ISD, Beaumont TX

I am an Instructional Technologist, and I work with projects and problem-solving. I am currently focused on device distribution, the website, and another project.

We have been using it in our school district. Beaumont ISD, Beaumont TX. I joined to see how others were using it. I am using the data shuttle to transfer students, schedules, and technology fines into a smartsheet to improve communication in the district.

I am also using it to start documenting and tracking who is refreshing our technology help videos with reminders to check them, etc. We also use it for project management. Educational use is different from business use. I wanted to see how other districts were using it.

A couple years ago I bought my husband a really nice acoustic guitar Christmas. He used to play when he was younger, but he really hasn't picked it up much since he got it. Just a couple months ago I decided I wanted to learn to play the guitar, too, but I like the electric guitars. So I bought one of those for myself. Our kids are all grown and out of the house, so there isn't anybody around to laugh at these old people trying to learn to play an instrument we haven't picked up before (at least for me, hubby just needs to re-learn)! By the end of the year I would love to be able to jam along to some of our favorite songs, even if at a very basic level.

One of my goals this year is to receive my PMP Certification. I have completed 80% of the course needed to sit for the exam. I anticipate being ready for the exam in the next 6 weeks.
