Re: Unable to click on individual cells
Hi @Kelly Fabiano,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We've determined that cells/sheets being unresponsive until the page is refreshed is caused by a bug and our Product team is working on a resolution. We are not able to provide a time-frame on how long the resolution could take but we are doing our best in order to have this fixed as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Georgie

Community Content & FAQs Reorganized!
Hello everyone,
We're always looking for ways to make your Community experience better and more intuitive.
That’s why this week we've reorganized a few sections to group together our Community-related content under a brand new header: "About Community"!
Here’s everything you need to know:
What's the same
This section includes all the same FAQ posts that previously were in the "Welcome to Community" topic, including our Welcome post, Guidelines, and information about our rank & rewards program.
What's new
We've changed the name of our Welcome topic to: Community Participation Guide.
Why? This topic houses lots of great information that can be helpful at any time, not just when you're new!
About Community also houses two related Community topics to make them easier to find: General Announcements and Community Platform Feedback.
You can access it from the top header navigation or go to the Discussions list to see more!
Cheers,
Genevieve & the Community Team

Re: Approval Workflow improvement - Keep the initial Value when request rejected
This workflow improvement would be great if added to the roadmap!
Re: AMP 2025 abstract on smartsheet laboratory utilization
Introduction: Managing laboratory schedules in a dynamic CLIA-certified molecular lab presents significant challenges. This study introduces an innovative scheduling system using Smartsheet (Bellevue, WA) to enhance operational efficiency by integrating the Paid Time Off (PTO) calendar with the scheduling process. The open accessibility of the PTO calendar fosters collaboration and facilitates adjustments among 24 team members handling approximately 40 tasks. By empowering schedulers to allocate resources flexibly, considering workloads and PTO, this solution allows immediate responses to unforeseen changes. Embracing automation, collaboration, and adaptability, our laboratory fundamentally transforms its scheduling paradigm, showcasing the quantifiable impact of Smartsheet and establishing a robust foundation for continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
Method: To enhance scheduling efficiency in our clinical molecular laboratory, we developed and implemented a Smartsheet-based system. This system synchronizes the PTO calendar with the work schedule, locks modifications beyond a 21-day window for stability, and opens the PTO calendar for comprehensive planning up to 366 days in advance. Full implementation occurred in 2023. We measured employee satisfaction scores, testing volumes, and time spent on scheduling in both 2022 and 2023, maintaining the same number of full-time positions during both periods. In 2023, PTO requests were tallied from the new system.
Results: Quantitative metrics demonstrated significant time savings, resource utilization, and productivity improvements. The Smartsheet system reduced the time for preparing, distributing, posting, and amending PTO schedules by 60%. In 2023, 1184 PTO/holiday work requests were seamlessly integrated, displaying weekly schedules for 24 individuals. Enhanced transparency improved staff coverage and workload distribution to increase overall capacity. Operational metrics showed a 13.5% increase in volume from 2022 to 2023, with a negligible 0.5% decrease from 81.5% to 81% in satisfaction scores.
Conclusion: The Smartsheet-based scheduling system has significantly improved the efficiency of our molecular laboratory operations, reducing scheduling time, conflicts, and adaptability challenges. This study highlights measurable productivity and operational cohesion gains. Future enhancements, such as incorporating test-based competencies and utilizing artificial intelligence for scheduling, are anticipated to provide further improvements. The success of this system underscores its potential as a model for other laboratories seeking to optimize scheduling processes.

Re: Index between a group of dates to return a corresponding row value
Hi @Lauren Y,
Give this a try.
=INDEX(COLLECT([Rate Year]$2:[Rate Year]$8, [Rate Year Start]$2:[Rate Year Start]$8, <=[Period End Date]@row , [Rate Year End]$2:[Rate Year End]$8, >=[Period End Date]@row ), 1)
Hope this helps,
Dave

Re: Identifying data associated with a previous row
If you are manually entering in the Weekly Expenditures, then your cumulative Spend to Date would simply be a SUMIFS adding up the Weekly Expenditures where Row:Row is less than or equal to Row@row.
=SUMIFS([Weekly Project Expenditures]:[Weekly Project Expenditures], Row:Row, @cell <= Row@row)

Re: New streamlined creation experience
@Jason Tabaczynski - See my Responses in BOLD (not trying to be harsh or mean, but many of us would appreciate some of these clarified and / or elaborated on)
Why we made this change: Based on customer research, we identified several pain points with the sheets folder:
↑ WHO?? WHAT TYPE OF CUSTOMERS (New/Existing)?? Because this WAS NOT released within the EAP program to provide feedback, so WHO did you guys reach out too to represent all of us here on a topic that we are all upset about?
- It had become an overwhelming, disorganized repository mixing useful and outdated assets
- How So? Based upon who/whom? "Outdated Assets"?
- New users found it confusing (why does it exist separately from workspaces?)
- So now NEW USERS have a say in our existing UI, but your long time paying customers DO NOT?
- The "Sheets" name was misleading since it contained multiple asset types
- So then RENAME it, Dont DELETE it!!
- Large sheets folders caused slow loading times and platform stability issues
- This occurrs in ALL your workspaces, not just the Sheets Folder, So this is an unjustified excuse. Maybe look into your platform issues rather than blame a single folders content.
