Best community I've been involved in is the Helix community.
Helix is/was the first multiuser database to run on personal computers and the first visual [no-code] programming environment. It came out in 1984 on the Mac. But since it was aimed at business owners and they tended to write their own custom apps to run their business the way they wanted it run, they pretty much had to help each other. The community began on CompuServe (probably before most of your time — CompuServe was a dial-up, nationwide service that preceded AOL This worldwide community at times spun off topics on politics but mostly was able to put aside differences in order to provide free encouragement and support to other community members. The longterm members were well-known and well-respected and we often learned about other aspects of their lives. And it was around so long that even those of us who joined later were around long enough to become longterm members. When CompuServe died, the community morphed into a listserver, and it still operates today via groups.io.

Re: Introduce yourself & get to know your peers!
Rebeca, I sure enjoyed chatting with lots of users at the Gov Smartsheet conference in May and hearing how they use Smartsheet in their org.

Re: Document Builder: Can you convert multi-select items from commas to bullets?
Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
Have you tested adding a so-called helper column and combining the values with the CHAR(10) feature?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!
Best,

Re: Document Builder: Can you convert multi-select items from commas to bullets?
This is amazing! Yes, I've used that method before in another sheet and didn't think of using it here. I just tried it out and it works great. I don't get the bullet symbols, but do get the vertical listing which I think is fine. We have multiple columns that have this multi-select picklist type, so I can work to make this a hidden column for each. Thanks so much for helping me find a work-around so quickly!

Hi, I’m Charity, a Training and Development Specialist with a background in systems administration. I’ve worked with Smartsheet and Bridge to support a wide range of project implementations, from organizing complex workflows to automating processes that save time and reduce manual effort. As a Smartsheet Mobilizer, I’m passionate about helping teams adopt smart, scalable solutions that truly make work easier.
Outside of my day job, I live a vibrant, hands-on life. I moonlight as a bartender, event coordinator, and travel agent, and I foster puppies through Mastro Mutts—something that brings me a lot of joy. I also love gardening, caring for my dogs, cats, and a very vocal parakeet, and expressing my creativity through art. I’m currently obsessed with pour painting and exploring how color and movement can tell a story.
Whether I’m leading a training, planning an event, or experimenting with a new art technique, I’m all about creating experiences that connect, inspire, and make a difference.

I work remotely at a coworking space in my hometown on certain days of the week. The community there is supportive, kind, empathetic, and fun. Even though few of us work for the same company, it's incredible how much we can learn from each other. If you're in Southeastern Wisconsin, check out The Loop Commons in Burlington.

The Smartsheet Community is incredible, also I recently had the chance to experience community at a local level. Our company sponsored a food drive, and it was heartwarming to see everyone pitch in and help those in need. It's a great reminder that community can take many forms and make a real impact

Smartsheet's community has been the best I've seen and used to date. It is easy to search whether the issue/question you have has been asked or brought up by someone else and if it hasn't, it is easy to post it to the community. Smartsheet has the best SME's and users to help troubleshoot some of my most difficult "problems". 98% of the time my posts have been resolved and some with multiple solutions which speaks to how things can be solved multiple ways and from different perspectives.

The community that I am most engaged in is a FB group that works with my county to give away/ask for free items. I only recently moved to my county, so this has helped me explore different areas of the county. I am becoming more and more familiar with the area and getting to know my neighbors in the process. It's really nice in Harford County!

Well considering the Smartsheet Community is a given… 😉
When I lived in my last apartment, I was part of a local Buy Nothing online community; generally the aim of Buy Nothing groups is to give away items or ask the community for items - no trading, no payment. We had participation from all walks of life, people contributing, asking for help, helping others. We had community leaders to help organize and moderate. It was unexpectedly one of the most positive, collaborative groups I've ever been in!
