Re: Text Values showing as zeros in Scatterplot
I think your base problem might be your thinking about what you are trying to represent in the graph. If you solved your scatterplot problem it is just going to look like your line chart without the connecting lines - which you state doesn't present well. Though, if you DO want this, graph another column that has all 0s as the values, make it the first series graphed and set the display color to white so that it overwrites all the others- that might work. You can see right now your orange series overwrites yellow and blue at the 0 line, just make an additional white one and you won't see the marks. PERSONALLY, if you are going to do this, I'd duplicate the entire dataset in a helper sheet and rather than "" for the empty cells I'd use something like 80% of the minimum value of the real data so that the Y axis doesn't go all the way to 0 for no reason. If you do that, obviously your white series needs to be that same value.
If you are trying to show the trend over time of your different datasets, the line chart with missing values interpolated may make the most sense - in which case, rather than having no data when there isn't a value you'd want the data from the cell above (or a smooth transition to the next point depending on the nature of your data). Any kind of interpolation is going to require the ability to reference other cells and rows which (if you want to use column formulas) is likely going to require a helper column called "row" as described in the accepted answer to this thread: Is there a way to reference the row above? - Smartsheet Community
If the times when the value drops to zero is relevant then the scatter plot and the line plot are both showing what you need them too by making the zeros visible.
If you are trying to show some other relationship you may want to consider manipulating your data in a helper sheet prior to graphing entirely (I do this OFTEN, I very rarely want to graph my data in the format I want to capture it in; any dashboard of mine usually has at least 2 helper sheets and a couple of reports that are kept hidden from the users).
Historically, when helping people with data visualization issues, my advice has been to use pencil and paper to draw the ideal graph you want and at least 2 or 3 alternates that would also work (just to make sure you actually like your first pass "ideal"). THEN figure how your data would need to be manipulated to allow that to be generated by the computer. ONLY THEN start messing with the graph options of whatever program you are using.
In your case - what do you WANT displayed when one term is blank but the others aren't? Should the line continue through level? Slope to the next point (and what do you want if there ISN'T a next point)? Disappear? Something else?

Adding here just yesterday after days of no word got confirmation from support that they can escalate this question.

The best thing has been the sense of Community within this forum. I appreciate the tribal knowledge that is shared without gatekeeping.
Re: August Question of the Month - Join the conversation and receive a badge
The best thing: how willingly, fast and free any best practice, advice, knowledge is shared, given, provided with no string attached…sharing is the best. You keep what you have and learn/give to others
Re: August Question of the Month - Join the conversation and receive a badge
It's hard to pinpoint just one great thing on the community platform but the enthusiasm about the product makes me feel like I'm not an outlier - the product sells itself. When I show colleagues just a few of the things that can help them reduce their workload while increasing accuracy and transparency, there's this glint people get in their eye and they can see the possibilities….then I know they're hooked and they'll be coming back for more! I've never experienced such unbridled enthusiasm for a product like this. It's contagious!

When someone on our team presents me a question, and I am 99.44% confident that I know the answer, but I have a glimmer of doubt… then I log into The Community, and I confirm I was correct by finding the advice of my Smartsheet Peers!!

Re: Introduce yourself & get to know your peers!
Hello out there! Elizabeth here speaking to you from Boston, MA. Introduced to Smartsheet 3 years ago and this is my first time engaging with the community. One of our PM teams use Smartsheet and introduced me to it via a project we were working on. I started digging and WOAH I became hooked. I'm in Global Product Operations and for me this isn't a project management tool, it's so much more! I can make this a process management tool, trust me we have plenty of outside of systems processes. I've been an advocate ever since and saw our users grow this past year from 35 to 1k. It makes me so happy when people see what we have built and reach out and ask me to tell them more about Smartsheet.

Re: Smartsheet recognized as a Customers' Choice in the Gartner® Peer Insights™ + Giveaway
I was introduced to Smartsheet by of course by a project management team at work. However once I started to scratch the surface of how to use it the entire lid blew off the box. My head exploded and I understood that my statement to leadership could actually come true "If you can't give us more people then give us tools to help us". I took the Core Path App and began my master plan of putting all of our offline, outside of systems, processes into Smartsheet. This is taking us out of email, excel, power point and thousands of meetings to execute on outside of the seasonal line plan items into one source (Smartsheet) that we can then reconcile with our systems. Everyone is on the same page, everyone knows what the ask is, what the progress is and utilizing the system data and not an offline document, email or meeting note to report out to leadership (which then conflicts with what another team has). I know i'm being dramatic but just putting one process like Late Add/Speed items has changed the game and possibly saved my sanity. My team and my family thanks you.
Now what did I build? We created a work app where each region has visibility of the # of items they can add for a season outside of our standard process. They then enter their request(now standardized) with all the details required for review. The workflow sends it to a global approver who then approves, rejects or communicates with the requestor for clarification. Any and all conversation, documents or information is housed in this one location, no confusion and can be referenced back by all teams. Once approved the product manager, developer, design, merchandising, sourcing, etc. are all notified of the new project. Once a item is created in our system of record (PLM) that item is entered into the request and we utilize data shuttle to bring in all the information across our systems of record to ensure all of our downstream processes are not being executed and is visible in real time. A dashboard for each region allows them to keep track of their items but also to see approved items they may also want to adopt and can request via the app. That is the simple explanation and we are still turning on bells and whistles to enhance but wanted the team to adopt quickly and wanted to ensure we all came on the technology journey together. No comments of overwhelm but only praise at this point. Best 50th birthday present ever and we still have a lot more to come!🎉
