Re: Automation emails and text
Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
This is incorrect. There is no EMAIL function in Smartsheet.
You must check the answers from the AI.
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!

Workspace Nicknames
The ability to provide nicknames to workspaces and the ability to group workspaces, so it's easily identifiable to you but doesn't change the name for the others (ie: owner). I have so many workspaces share with me and it's hard to remember which is which.
Dynamic SmartSheet Dashboards
There is a need for dynamic smartsheet dashboards; the ability to expand/contract sections and slice information by various and multiple fields.
Sheet Summary Report & PowerBI
Sheet Summary Report is such a great tool, it allows us to summarize data in a variety of ways without the need for helper rows/columns and allows us to create reports based off of this information. Unfortunately, I need one of those Summary Reports (not a Row Report) to pull into PowerBI and it can't do it, we continue to get an error message. I need to use PowerBI due to the dynamic and slicing capabilities that the SmartSheet dashboards lack.
Signature field in Form entry
I am using a sheet with numerous columns to input our extra work then track and price. This has been a huge help and allows minimal form entry information and then use cross sheet formulas to price everything out. Then I create a document off the row to submit as our final pricing. My struggle now is that the clients are wanting to sign them in the field at the time of work instead of after with an approval request or via docusign.
My questions is, can a form entry selection be set as a handwritten entry that can be used as the signature? All of our field entries are done vial Ipads.
Re: How to keep the sort order of grid view in card view
Hi Matt,
I've set up a test sheet with your same organization/columns/data and tested this, and I am now able to replicate the behaviour you're talking about, thank you!
As far as I'm aware, this is expected behaviour. When you manually change where the card is placed in the Card View, this is a different structure to the Grid View of the sheet - changing lanes will change the value of the cell (aka moving it from 12-box to 11-box will update the cell value) but it doesn't shift where the row appears in the sheet.
In the same way, then when you Sort the Rows in the grid, the Card View will remember the location that you drag-and-dropped each card, since it's not associated with the order of the rows but rather the value of the lane.
At this point I would suggest submitting an Enhancement Request to be able to Sort Cards directly from Card View, since this isn't a feature currently available in Smartsheet.
Thanks,
Genevieve

Re: What are the advantages of using the Salesforce SaaS platform?
Using a SaaS platform like Salesforce brings numerous advantages beyond just cost savings on infrastructure. Here's a breakdown of the most compelling reasons why organizations choose Salesforce as their SaaS CRM platform:
Advantage | Description |
|---|---|
1. No Infrastructure Required | You don't need to manage servers, storage, or software updates — Salesforce handles everything in the cloud. |
2. Scalability | Whether you have 10 users or 10,000, Salesforce can scale with your business needs without downtime or migration hassles. |
3. Regular Updates & Innovation | Salesforce releases three major updates per year, giving you access to new features without additional cost. |
4. High Availability & Reliability | Salesforce ensures high uptime and business continuity through redundant cloud architecture. |
5. Accessibility from Anywhere | Access your data securely from any device with internet connectivity — ideal for remote and global teams. |
6. Robust Ecosystem (AppExchange) | Thousands of third-party apps and plug-ins are available to extend Salesforce’s capabilities. |
7. Strong Security | Enterprise-grade security including data encryption, identity and access management, and compliance with major standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.). |
8. Customization & Automation | Easily tailor the platform with no-code/low-code tools like Flow, Process Builder, and Lightning App Builder. |
9. Integration Capabilities | Seamlessly integrates with ERP, marketing, support, and other enterprise systems via APIs or prebuilt connectors. |
10. Advanced Analytics | With Salesforce Reports, Dashboards, and tools like Einstein Analytics, you gain actionable business insights in real time. |
A global insurance company uses Salesforce SaaS to unify their sales, service, and marketing teams. With automation and centralized data, they improved lead conversion by 30% and reduced service response time by 40%.
Salesforce SaaS not only reduces IT burden but empowers teams with powerful tools to improve customer relationships, decision-making, and agility — all key factors for staying competitive in today’s fast-paced environment.

Reoccurring workflow start based on date in cell and end when a condition is met
It would be awesome to have be able to set a custom recurrence for a workflow that is triggered based on a Date Field instead of a hard coded date. This would be extremely useful for Update Requests and Alerts. For instance having it resend the UR/ Alert/ Approval until a condition changes that shows they have responded.
Card View "Auto Numbering"
In my line of work for Disaster Debris Recovery Operations, we use Smartsheet extensively—especially "Card View"—to organize field crews efficiently.
We rely on the top-to-bottom order in each lane to set crew priorities, where the top card is #1, and each following card is numbered in sequence. To manage this, I built a custom column to manually assign numbers based on position.
The problem? Every time a card is moved, we have to manually renumber the entire list. It’s repetitive, time-consuming, and easy to mismanage.
The solution? Let’s create a feature that automatically numbers cards from top to bottom in Card View, updating the values in real-time as cards are moved.
This small enhancement would save countless hours, reduce errors, and streamline workflows for teams who depend on visual prioritization.
Can we make it happen?
