Hello,

Please please please that would be such a great feature ! In our organization I send update request to many users and when there are new users for example it's not easy for them to know what they have to put in the columns (because I don't want to make columns with a crazy long name).

If we have the help text directly in the update request for each column it would be almost like a Smartsheet Form which is great! ( I cannot use the form for our purpose as it is datas which can only be updated step by step and not one-shot). Do you know if there is any Idea proposition existing on this topic so we can vote it, I didn't find it...

Hi, I have the same problem. My update request are not showing the help text that is needed to understand the question as the column is not having enough space to add the question there.

Is there a smarter solution for this issue, now after 2 years?

Same for the logic, would be great tpo have that in the update requests as well.

However, based on the feedback I saw already, the age of the questions and the the non implementation of all those crucial things it seems like Smartsheet is not really into making things more user friendly.. So not sure if it even makes sense to raise it again...

Block Collaborators from Viewing Sheet

I have a few hundred people I need to fill out forms, but I do NOT want them to have any access to my sheet for privacy reasons.

Is there a way to get rid of that "View in Smartsheet" link that appears in their update request email?

@Paul Newcome Do you know if there has been any update to this request? I am using Update Request to suppliers outside of our company and when they click on send me a copy of response it takes them to the source sheet that has other supplier information that can not be shared.

If you have a work around, I would be happy to try it out!

This is a concern for us too, and a source of confusion for our users.

When the user selects "Send me a copy of my response", they receive an email including details about the underlying sheet and row that was modified, including a link to the underlying sheet. This occurs even if the user does not have access to the underlying sheet (e.g., an external user.)

This introduces uncertainty and confusion, exposing the user to concepts and details that are outside of their workflow. This is also an issue for internal users that may have access to the underlying sheet, but never interact with it directly (as their workflow uses Reports and Dashboards.)

We would also like to be able to disable the "Send me a copy" button. When checked by the survey user, this email response adds a link to the actual document, with an invitation to have access. Our users are confused by this - they are under the impression that this email is the final result in the process, when the actual process generates an email back to them with a dynamic file link, containing needed documents for our anniversary program. Hoping this nudge helps SmartSheet in deciding to make this change.

The ability to copy datamesh jobs, that will allow a rename and modify the mapping fields in the new source or target files.

The ability to copy an existing DataMesh as new. Allowing an edit on either the selection source sheet or target sheet; and it's data field mappings.

Use Case:

I have similar reports that have different targets; the data fields are the same. Currently I have to recreate the job from scratch. It would be a time saver if I could just copy the job and modify as needed.
