Re: July Question of the Month - Join the conversation and receive a badge
This year, I set two big goals: getting better at balancing work and life by 1. focusing on my health and spending more quality time with my family—and 2. leveling up my skills to become an expert in my field. Honestly, some days I’m a health guru who actually drinks water and takes a walk, and other days I’m a professional snack enthusiast glued to my desk.
Finding balance is a work in progress! Meanwhile, I’m diving into learning new things and trying not to feel overwhelmed by how much there is to know. It’s a juggling act.
Lots of readjusting happening and grace through the chaos of life and for not doing what I wish I wanted but at least doing something a little better.

My personal goal this year is to become a Smartsheet Ambassador, i just recently received Leader ranking which i was not expecting. This just gets me closer to my goal!! I'm super excited — this year i have been really focused around career growth, which will hopefully lead me into my big personal goal of buying a house so my kiddos can have a backyard to play in! Keep your fingers crossed for me!🤞

Rebeca,
GREAT QUESTION! Thank you for remembering what we set out to do in January, and bringing it around full circle. Also, It was so nice to finally be in a real meeting with you last week for the Over Achievers! So much fun!
Well, my goal this year is to acquire my PMP Certification and join my local chapter in California! So far, I have finished my 35 hour class, and have been studying for 2 months. I am scheduled to take my exam on July 26th 2025. In order to take the exam you have to apply for the exam, and be accepted. I just received my acceptance letter and need to pay for it now. :)
I am hoping by this time next month, I am certified!

This year, I set a personal goal to spend less time on screens after work and be more present with my family and friends. With so much of my day spent in front of Smartsheet, emails, and meetings, I realized I was carrying that “plugged-in” mindset into my evenings too.

My personal goal this year was to overall be healthier. Earlier in the year, I mentioned that I had officially quit nicotine and have remained that way ever since. This was a good first step into increasing my physical health; but I've expanded my goal of being healthier to also include financial health. One of my goals this year that I'm on track for is to max out my annual contribution to my ROTH IRA.
This goal is difficult because even though we're seeing record levels for multiple indices in the stock market, the economy remains precarious for many folks, including myself. The price of goods and services remains high, and there doesn't yet to be any major reprieve coming in the short term.
To combat this, I'm leaning on controlling what I can control, and trying to make the best of situations this year, while doing what I can to set myself up for future success when the opportunities present themselves.

What is a personal goal you've set for yourself this year, and how is it going?
This is a great question! One of my personal goals that I have set for myself this year is to begin documenting and recording everything about my role, duties, responsibilities, and position within our district. I am nearing my 40th year working for our local school district, and as I look forward to my eventual retirement, I was asked to not only begin documenting everything I do, but to begin recording all of the background knowledge that is contained within my brain and to begin to think toward how to transition someone new into my role while also passing along all of my historical knowledge. I am learning that this is a very daunting task, but so far, with the help of our Smartsheet tool, it is beginning to take shape. Being able to use Smartsheet to help me document all of my roles and responsibilities is essential, especially since my role was created as a new role in our district, all thanks to Smartsheet! In fact, I am also very excited that our district is truly embracing the Smartsheet tool, and our continued commitment to growing capacity within our district for using Smartsheet is also part of why my role exists. In fact, part of our commitment to growing capacity has led to our district allowing more than just me to attend Smartsheet ENGAGE! This year, I will be bringing 7 additional team members along with me in November. I am so excited for them.
Re: How can Salesforce implementation improve business processes?
- Choose Salesforce if:
- You need a robust CRM platform with sales, service, and marketing tools.
- Your organization relies on data-rich customer interactions and automation.
- You require enterprise-level security, compliance, and role management.
- Choose Smartsheet if:
- You are managing projects, resources, or tasks, not complex customer pipelines.
- Your team needs quick, customizable collaboration tools.
- CRM use is lightweight or secondary to operational or project work.

Individual allocations for persons assigned to the same task
Today, when needing different allocations (%) for individuals assigned to the same task, I need to have separate lines/taskentries for each person. While this is OK, it would be an improvement/ease managing a plan, if one could have one task entry for multiple persons and adjust the allocations separatly if needed.

Back in January I wrote - "A shared bucket list item for my wife and me is to attend a Formula 1 Grand Prix at an iconic location like Monaco or Monza."
So far this year, I have only made it to the cinema to see the new movie - Clearly need to try harder on my goals!
