Column Descriptions - administrative menu, exportable, linkable
We use column descriptions in many different ways to keep our sheet updaters/users informed and "trained" regarding the data they engage with. Here are some suggested features:
- Make a menu to view all Column Names, along with the text Description in a list view. It would be helpful to view all/many columns together, and be able to compare the text(s) in a sortable/searchable way, rather than to have to click into each Column Description in the live sheet where I am not aware of a way to compare the description to another column unless you've copied it out to a notepad or other text source.
- If a menu where searching/sorting/updating is too much to ask for, just make the Column Names and text Description exportable to Excel so we can search in an external sheet, without having to manually cut/paste dozens of column Descriptions one by one each time we want to confirm/compare/share for user training purposes.
- For columns connected by DataMesh, (or other linked column types that are essentially same column from a different source…?) have an option/checkbox to carry over the same column Description so they can be maintained in one location, and remain consistent if any change.

A Reference field should be used to show conversations "@ messages" in Teams
Hi,
Every time a comment is coming from Smartsheet into Teams comes with no reference whatsoever making it difficult to track right away forcing users to open the Smartsheet item to really see where -what row- it is coming from wasting time & adding redundancy if they already have that Smartsheet item open.
Suggestion to use/enable a reference field such as the Primary column or others to immediately see the row where it is coming from that conversation. See attached.
Is there a way to export column descriptions with the sheet?
For data export needs, I was trying to see if it was possible to export the column descriptions when I export a Smartsheet to Excel. I know it will export comments and the sheet summary. Anyone know if exporting column descriptions with a sheet are possible?

@RAdamowicz No, they do not need to be formatted that way in the Excel or Smartsheet. It's purely how you format the filter in Data Shuttle.

To add to Tomasz's excellent advice/answer.
Another option could be using Workflows instead; you don't need formulas.
Also, a method I use if the Approvers are beside each other is to count the approvals instead.
=IF(COUNTIFS([Approver 1]@row:[Approver 3]@row, "Approved") = 3, "Approved", "Not Approved")

Ability to Favorite a Collection
The Collections feature is amazing - we love it! It makes it so much easier for those who are not familiar with Smartsheet to get what they need and not be distracted by other sheets and workspaces they may have access to. However, it would be even better, if they had the ability to favorite it so they could find it easily. Currently, they must have the link or know which workspace to open to find it.

Hi,

The change cell action doesn't work with the Symbol column type, so you need to create a workaround.
If you add a so-called helper column and have the change cell action changing that to, for example, Red, and then use a formula in the Symbol column to reference the helper, it will show the Red circle.
Make sense?

I'd like to see a feature where I could make a call out from one workflow to an existing workflow. Due the current limitations within the existing workflow feature, being able to "link" different workflows together will allow for more complex automation such as nested if, If/then/else, or automation of multiple field population.
Critical path in a report
Hello there,
I am looking for a way to show my critical path on my dashboard. I assume I need to create a report of critical path. the question is; how can I filter my critical path in a report. My aim is to have this automatically show it, updated, every time I open my dashboard.
Is there any attribute related critical path on a row?
