@S.Stone I've noticed that same "An error has occurred in Smartsheet" message a lot lately when I create new assets. Sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes for the asset to show up in my workspace.
This does seem like something way out of the ordinary!
I would recommend filing a support ticket directly in the Support Portal.
Hopefully Smartsheet can directly help figure this one out.

Re: Counting Multi Select drop downs
You could just use the COUNTM function which is designed specifically for counting how many selections were made in a multi-select dropdown.
=COUNTM([Column Name]@row)
Not sure I follow your secind ask though. Are you wanting to count how many times a specific selection is made within a multi-select column?
If so, that is what the HAS function was designed for.
=COUNTIFS([Column Name]:[Column Name], HAS(@cell, "Specific Selection"))

Automation of "Send me a copy of my responses"
It would be helpful for either an automation workflow be set up so the submitter gets a copy of their response to their email, or have an option instead of electing into a copy they automatically receive one. Basically the ability to have more of a "confirmation" style email of their response.

Please make "Created by" field in Approval email message and Approval Form message be consistent
There is currently an inconsistency between "Created by" field values displaed in Approval email message and Approval Form message.
We have a "Created by"-typed field called "Submitter" and we include this Submitter field in an automation Approval flow message.
In the approval email notification message (under the "Details" in the email body,) the "Submitter" value is the email address of the user (ie, the email address of the user that created the record.)
However, in the Approval Form (when you click on "Open Request"), the "Submitter" value is the user's name (ie, the name of the user that created the record.)
Please make these consistent, and ideally include both the email and name in the messages. Or provide a mechanism where we can specify which should be used (email address or name.)

We have upgraded and are impacted. This is slowing our further expansion of smartsheet using our Jira connector across our campus — please resolve this issue ASAP.
