Re: Latest Comment column disconnected, still not able to create new or recreate
This is a bug Smartsheet needs to fix.

Re: Inconsistently updating Latest Comment Column
Experiencing this on my own smartsheet, not a template.
First time of use I had to refresh to get latest comment to show. After that refresh, when I add another comment to test the "latest" update, no amount of refreshing has worked to show the newer comment.
Little disappointed as this feature would have solved our issue of the "Comments/notes" column being swamped with old comments we don't need to see anymore. Oh well.
Re: Set filter to only show certain columns
@Debi.Fisher Correct, you can't add rows from a report. Only in a sheet or a form connected to that sheet.
Possible workarounds (the key to all Smartsheet solutions)
- Use Dynamic View if you have it. This can limit column visibility and allow users to add rows
- Embed the report on a dashboard with a form, this makes it easier for users to navigate between the 2
- Add a column in the sheet with a link to the form, that way users can click on that link from any row to create a new one
- Have users install the SSFeatures browser extension and save their own views of the sheet with the specific columns hidden/unhidden that they need.

Re: Are New Folders No Longer Allowed In Sheets Directory
@Genevieve P. I am curious why this was not rolled out like any other big change? Why was it hidden in the Community Forum? As a System Admin on a large account, I like to be the one to provide information on changes as big as this in a constructive manner. I try to be proactive so I don't get hundreds of questions. It seems really strange to me how this change is being handled by Smartsheet. Thank you for the detail above, has Smartsheet created an information page about this in one place?

Re: Can you create a workflow to copy a row to between sheets in different Workspaces?
Hi @Tony Fronza
I tested and found that creating copy-to-another-sheet in another workspace is possible.
The workflow does not show the sheet in another workspace as candidates at the first time.
The workaround that worked for me is to copy rows manually first. You can use the normal sheet and workspace directory in the manual "Copy to Another Sheet" dialog panel. Then, when you go back to the workflow, you can search the sheet, and it will pop up as candidates.😀
Re: Sharing reports with data without even view access to the source sheet
@johngraham78 , if the user only has view access, then they can't view the hidden columns. IMO that's a good feature. I've provided view access to clients and hidden columns that I didn't want them to see. However, you need to be aware that if they download the sheet, the hidden columns will be downloaded and will be accessible.
Re: Sharing reports with data without even view access to the source sheet
I have a potential workaround for this problem (with drawbacks of course).
If you hide every column in the source sheet (you must keep one column visible though), those with view only access cannot unhide any columns and therefore cannot see any data.
This could be used in conjunction with a duplicate sheet from which reports are based. As some have mentioned, a series of automations and datamesh could keep the sheets in sync.
Dynamic view won't work for my particular situation, as I'm using reports with 'current user' dependencies to feed charts on a dashboard.
Re: Sharing reports with data without even view access to the source sheet
Except Dynamic View does not hold formatting of your report… ie grouping/summary

Re: How to extract email address from a contact list the use the value in an adjacent column
I was able to do this but had to add an additional column to the sheet. I have the contact column, text contact column, then a third to extract the email address. I populate the contact in the first column, do a simple copy/paste into the second (text), and have a column formula for the 3rd that extracts the email only using this:
=SUBSTITUTE(MID([Text Contact]@row, FIND("<", [Text Contact]@row) + 1, LEN([Text Contact]@row) - (FIND("<", [Text Contact]@row) + 1)), ">", "")
Ability to duplicate Pivot App sheets
Allow the ability to duplicate a pivot app sheet if all you are changing is some of the columns and rows, but are using the same data set and destination location.
