Re: How to pull a single instance of duplicates into another sheet?
Hi @shrobert ,
The easiest way to do this is to use an index(collect()). You create an index of the collected values and specify that you just wanted the first instance in the index.
=INDEX(COLLECT({Concat Column reference}, {Year Col Reference}, =[Column2]1, {Program Column Reference}, =[Column1]2 ), 1)
This collects anything in the Concat column on the other sheet by comparing the reference to the year column on the other sheet with the year in the first field of column 2 and the Program (Reading, Literature, etc.) with the program you have in Column 1. The 1 in the column specifies you only want the first instance. I believe you can drag this formula down to Literature and Math and across to column 3 to get 2023 as well.
Re: Please let Smartsheet work with time
I would love a time Column so that we can do a Start Time and an End time and use the Gant view to look at how long in time things take. Not just in Dates. This would make our use of Smartsheet way better then it already is. as we use time in our functions and we have to use Powerbi in order to make the Gant view work for us. it would be so amazing if we could use the smartsheet for that view. Also in the calendar app as well. then we can see things by date and people. I would be willing to talk to someone about this and show you what we are using it for.
Re: Welcome to the Project Management Office (PMO) Community!
For a project manager in a world of donuts and coffee, Smartsheet is a lifesaver for tracking and planning remodels. All the data is organized ans easily accessible for our tream, even on an Iphone. I`m always seeking ways to improve, and it would be nice to connect with a community of like-minded professionals.
Re: Sheet Reference Manager panel - drag to expand the window
Problem: The "Sheet Reference Manager" cuts off sheet reference names that are more than 19 characters (at least on my screen).
Idea: Allow resizing of the name column so we can view the whole sheet reference name, instead of having to press "Edit" and wait a long time for it to load.

Re: Ability to paste a screenshot directly into Conversations > Comments or Attachments
If we are unable to copy-paste images/screenshots into the conversations, we are losing out! It is cumbersome to download every file, every time it needs to be accessed.
Re: Are New Folders No Longer Allowed In Sheets Directory
I found a work around to this. Right click on workspaces and create a new workspaces. Then move whatever projects you want into that workspace and you can create folders etc.. again just like before
Re: Report data not visible to those with access
I'm seeing lots of weird bugs lately too. Creating sheets, then it says I don't have access… getting a lot of "Can'r reach Smartsheet right now" and stuff like that ha

Re: May Question of the Month - Join the conversation and receive a badge
Imagine you have a big box of toys, and you want to make sure everyone gets the toy they like the most. As a Business Analyst, my job is kind of like that! I help people figure out what they need and how to make things work better. I look at all the toys (or information) and decide the best way to share them so everyone is happy and things run smoothly. 😊

Re: Lag between data in source and dashboard charts
So what happens sometimes is that unless you open the sheet or have it make a call on the Smartsheet servers to update the information inside. I force this to happen is with an automation to record a date in a column called "Helper Date Column". I record an initial value in the column at the top.
To create this workflow:
- Create a column called "Helper Date Column."
- Record an initial value at the top (today's date).
- Select Automation > Create workflow from scratch.
- Title your workflow (for example, "Daily Update").
- Set the trigger to When a date is reached.
- Click on Run Once and change this to Custom > Repeat every Day.
- Select an early morning time for the trigger (e.g. 2:00AM).
- Configure a condition block for where the new date column is in the past.
- Set the Action block to Record a date in that new date column.
This should successfully update the sheet daily and pull all of the updated information into the sheet, which in turn will update the reports and dashboard. Hope this helps!
Re: Lag between data in source and dashboard charts
Hi,
I have a similar problem but a much longer lag. I made a dashboard with several charts on it. Each chart is made from a report, which is sourced from a metrics sheet with not-so-complex formulas…Our employees enter data through forms, and the charts are generated automatically. The last piece of data is entered at 9 PM on a Sunday. I opened the dashboard, printed a PDF and shared it with my supervisors only to realize 3 out of 6 charts weren't up to date.
Then I had to manually open all of the metrics sheets that weren't updating automatically, and only once I opened them did they refresh…Most of the data for those metrics sheets were entered hours before, only one piece of information was entered at 9 PM. I was doing this around 9:40 PM when it was refreshing in front of my eyes when I was opening the metrics sheets.
Is this normal or do I have too many formulas going on?
Thanks
