Web Form Unable to be Accessed

Someone who we've asked to supply feedback via web form received this message: "The form you are attempting to access is no longer active."

We have not deactivated the form. The "Deactivate" choice under the "More" option is there.

Is this possibly a firewall/security issue on the user's end?

  • Hi Michelle—

Typically security/firewall messages will display different messaging. This is specifically a message coming from the Smartsheet application.

It indicates that the web form link that person is using is deactivated. This could mean that either:

    • You're looking at the wrong sheet or wrong web form in your sheet. Make sure that when you click the Web Forms tab, you see the green "Active" status.
    • They're using a different web form link other than the one you sent them. Resend them the web form link. You can do this in the Web Forms tab by clicking the envelope icon to the right of the web form link. You might have them open that link in an incognito window in Google Chrome to make sure that a different URL isn't being used somehow.

If the above doesn't work, contact our Support team for further assistance.

  • Shaine, thanks for your quick reply! Much appreciated.

  • I am using a web form to have people submit nominations for an award.  The submission process has a due date so I will need to disable the webform at a certain point.  Is it possible to customize the "deactivated" message from Smartsheet?

    Thank you!
