Is there a way to get todays date?
Hello I don't think this is possible but i was just wondering if there is a formula or way that i could use to pull today's date and have it auto populate the cell once the form is submitted. Currently I have it set up so in the form they fill out they just enter today date but i didn't know if there would be a way to streamline it to where the date would automatically be there and they wouldn't have to fill it out on the form as the form has 30 other questions on it. I would even be okay if i had to have a second smart sheet with every date listed and have it pull from that one. The only problem I see with that is how would the sheet know which date to pull. Let me know if what I am thinking of doing is even possible or if I'm just crazy.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Hi @Jeremy Oesch,
Why not just include a Created date column on your sheet?
This wouldn't have to be visible on the form itself, but would auto-fill today's date (and time, but you can get round this) each time the form is submitted.

Hi @Nick Korna,
I didn't know what the created date was but that is good to know! Is there a way to make say something like Dec. 13th, 2023 instead of 12/13/23. This is how i need it set up as it has to be formatted that way.
Thanks,
Jeremy

I hope you're well and safe!
If you add a so-called helper column (Date type) and reference the Created Date column, you can then select which format you'd like it to be.
Did that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

@Jeremy Oesch - @Nick Korna solution is perfect!
If you need to have a different date format, you can do this by creating a helper column and formatting the helper column with the date format you want (date format button on toolbar).
Created (Date Only) column = date column type
formula: =Created@row

Peggy

I see what your saying and have tried it but when i get this.
I used your formula (=Date@row) and this is what shows up. I even have the date formated how i would want them to be.

Ensure that the helper column is a Date Column.
Did that fix it?
