Columns keep collapsing when I open the sheet, how do I fix this?

I hid two columns to enter some data, saved it and when I came back to the sheet I unhid those columns and every time I open the sheet they still show as collapsed/hidden. How do I fix this? I want them to show and I'm not sure why it keeps hiding those columns.
