Report: Group by Month/Sort by Month

I am trying to get a report that will list my reports based on a column "month" - it is sorting by month name (alpha). I tried a helper column with the month number in front of it and it sorted January (1) and then October (10). Is there an option to custom sort option? Should I be using a different column type?

Add a 0 in front of single digit months and it will sort correctly, ie January (01).

Oh so simple, yet effective. I think I thought of everything BUT that. Thank you for your speedy response.
