sheet with a form and history feedback

Hi I am Sascha and since January active user/admin of Smartsheet in our company. We have our portfolio and project management running and I think from time to time about some improvements especially in the project reporting field. we have these latest status section where the PMs shortly report current status in general - through coloured points and small text fields. These cells are connected to our portfolio sheet where everything comes together. Now if a PM gives a status by entering new information's the old status is getting overwritten and I was thinking about a solution to have a history of the given status updates and of cause change date. My Idea goes in the direction to have a form which collects the status, store the data in a sheet and the last update is always connected to our portfolio sheet. How is it possible to have the latest update in row 1 so that this row is always referenced to the other sheets. and how do i get the latest entries from the form referenced within the sheet to row one.

if somebody has an idea i would be happy to test this.

Kind regards and happy easter

    Hi @saschat

I hope you're well and safe!

You'd use the Sheet Summary feature and an INDEX formula always to get row one of the status.

    Make sense?

    Would that work/help?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

    Hi Andrée,

thx for your idea - sheet summary was the right direction.

i am using =INDEX([Row ID]:[Row ID], COUNTIFS([Row ID]:[Row ID], NOT(ISBLANK(@cell)))) to get the latest cell info in a sheet within the sheet summary and use this summary variable on the reportcells.

not 100%, but fit the requirement to record status messages and present the actual ones in a report.
