Commenter Permissions Not Working When Sheet is Viewed in WorkApp

I am running into an issue were users that have been granted "Commenter" permissions on one of my sheets are unable to comment or add attachments when viewing the sheet via my WorkApp. When setting the Page Permissions of the WorkApp, only Editor, Viewer, or Hidden are available for selection under each role.

My wish is to have the users have the same "Commenter" permissions regardless of if they view the sheet directly OR within the WorkApp. Any suggestions on how to do so?

The WorkApp access is separate from the Smartsheet general access, so the Commenter permission has to be added.

@Zach Wiechmann , I believe there is no "Commenter" access in WorkApps.

If you provide WorkApps "Editor" access, the user can:

• change any unlocked column, comment and add attachments.

If you provide WorkApps "Viewer" access, the user can:

• Only view and cannot change, comment or add attachments.

My workaround was to:

1. Create locked versions of editable columns for the "Commenter" user.
2. Create a report that only includes locked columns.
3. Provide the user WorkApps "Editor" access to the new report.

You can encourage Smartsheet to fix the problem by voting on this idea.
