Automation Workflow run on the 1st of the month

Hi

I need to have an automation run on the first of the month based on the approval date and I'm not sure how to do it.

For example, if the approval date is done 5/8/23, then the automation should run on 6/1/23. I believe I need to create a helper column that would house the formula to calculate the 6/1/23 date but I'm not sure how to write the formula.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @Carol-Anne Cerbone - You can set the workflow to run on the first of the month. Your workflow might look like this.

    1. Select "When a date is reached" and "Custom" instead of "Run once."
    2. Make the recurrence every 1 month on Day 1.
    3. Set a condition. What does the automation do? You could exclude anything that's been done. Alternatively, you could make this automation record a date (when it's sent) so that you're only capturing new items. You could set a condition based on days in the past, but then you risk duplication for the end of the past month.

Please let me know if this works for you!

    Hi @Carol-Anne Cerbone

In your automation trigger select when a date is reached, then Custom. Then select Repeat Every 1 Month on Day 1.

You can change the starting time and add other conditions to ensure the flow meets all your criteria. You may want criteria added that prevents it from running on specific rows if XXX is YYY. This should run on the first day of the month for any items that meet your criteria.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you both for the response. That should work!
