How to add multiple contacts in one cell with an automated workflow?

Hi there!

I currently have automated assignment workflows where when a certain department is selected, the Department Manager is populated according the specified workflow. My question: is there a way where two department managers are assigned in one cell when two departments are chosen (I have two separate workflows for each department)? See screenshots below.

Thank you!

    Yes! πŸ™‚

In your workflow I see the message that says "This column only supports one assignee". That means in order to add more than one person to the same cell, you'll need to update the column in the Grid before adjusting your workflow settings.

Double-click on the column name and from here you can enable it to have multiple selections.

Once that's set up, you can then toggle off the button in your workflow that makes sure this person is added instead of replacing the current cell contents:

Thank you for such a quick response! I did the above and revised my automation rules, but it doesn't seem to be populating both the department managers' names in the Department Manager column? My rules and a screenshot of the columns are below.

  • Hi @Thu Nghiem

Thanks for the screen captures, this helps! I can see you have the setting toggled on where it says "replace values". Try turning that off in both of your workflows, so it appears as grey instead of blue:
