If you have Bridge, what are you using it for?

We just got Bridge, as I try and learn it, I am trying to think of all the use cases. Also, has anyone done anything with Bridge and Data Tables together?

Following. We are upgrading to Advance with our next renewal, and I am already building my Bridge wish list. 😃

@Joe Goetschel great thread to start as I too am keen to learn how people are using Bridge.

I am only just beginning to use Bridge, a few use cases below:

    • Since Smartsheet has no inherent way to filter on a dashboard, we have connected Smartsheet to PowerBI and have built dashboards in PBI with filters, complex charts etc. These PBI dashboards are in turn embedded in a Smartsheet dashboard for consistency. However, there are times when team members want to click on a link in PBI and be taken to the appropriate Smartsheet row/item. So I use Bridge to add a row link when a row is created in Smartsheet. That row link is then pulled into PBI so that users can click on the link which opens Smartsheet.
    • I have used Bridge for daily "Today" updates as per this Help article
    • I use Bridge to update dropdown columns as per this Help article, although I switch between Bridge and Data Shuttle when doing this (I find the latter is quicker to set up)
    • Using Bridge for Row Autosort as per this Help article

I am not a programmer and don't have much knowledge around API usage etc. so a lot of trial & error and internet searching!

@Neil Watson Thank you this was super helpful!

I have a lot of uses cases I plan to use Bridge for, but I need to learn how to use it first!

    • I plan to link it to NetSuite to pull data into Smartsheet for bidirectional updates, (Netsuite isn't as user friendly as Smartsheet.)
    • We are going to link in our Service Platform (MIS Service Pro) to be able to use Smartsheet to send notifications, as well as get all service-related items on customer dashboards
    • Everything you stated above, I want to do :)
    • I have to come up with a workaround to get data into data tables from other systems. This one will be complicated but I think I can take it into a sheet and trigger data shuttle to put into datatable and then delete the rows once complete? (Idea right now but I'll get there)
