Unable to display column chart and metric widget not showing value.
Hello Everyone,
Column chart issue:
I am encountering errors while attempting to display the column chart on the dashboard. The error message states, "Unable to display chart." The data source of the column chart is one report, and source sheet(Formula sheet) of this report is getting reference from another sheet. In the source sheet, I am using the cross-sheet formula to get the data from other sheets.
To solve this issue, I have to open the sheet and then save the sheet. Then I refresh the dashboard, then I am able to see the chart.
Metric widget issue:
I am using the metric widget in the dashboard to get the value. The data source for this metric widget is a sheet summary. When I open the dashboard so sometime, I am getting an error that time value is not shown.
To solve this issue, I have to open the sheet and then save the sheet. Then I refresh the dashboard, so I can see the chart.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Shubham
Are you using the TODAY function in any of your formulas on the source sheet?
If so, the Today function requires the sheet to be opened/saved in order to identify the date of Today and use that to calculate values.
Here's a Help Article that goes through ways to automatically update TODAY() without opening the sheet:
Cheers,
Genevieve

Hi @Genevieve P.
Thank you for your response. However, I am not currently using the "today()" function in the sheets. Still, I am facing the same issue.

Hi @Shubham
You note that the formula sheet is referencing another sheet as well - is it possible that this other sheet uses TODAY?
Would you be able to post all the formulas that you're using, in the source sheet and the referenced sheet?

Hi @Genevieve P.
Column chart
I have multiple columns in the source sheet, I am using this formula in one column and other columns also use similar formulas only some condition is changed.
=IFERROR(COUNTIFS({Year},"Current Year", {Receive Month}, Month@row, {Fulfilled},"Fulfilled", {Dep}, "ABC") + COUNTIFS({Year},"Current Year", {Received Month}, Month@row, {Fulfilled},"Fulfilled", {Dep}, "ABC"), "")
Metric widget
I am using this formula in the sheet summary section.
=IFERROR(COUNTIFS([Quantity]:[Quantity], >0, [Year]:[Year], "Current Year") + COUNTIFS({Quantity}, >0,{Year}, "Current Year"), "")
Note: I am not using Today( ) in any sheets.
Thank you for your prompt response.

Hi @Shubham
Do you have formulas in any of these columns, and if so, could you share these as well?
- {Year}
- {Receive Month}
- Month
