Update Parent Row with Child

I have several budget sheets that are managed by separate functions. I want the leads of each function to update their data within their own respective sheet and for the updates to flow into one collated Master budget sheet. The Master budget sheet is linked to the individual function budget sheets using a unique identifier. Currently every time the individual function sheets update a row, a child (duplicate) is copied into the master budget sheet via the copy rows workflow. Is there a way to update the parent rows in the Master budget sheet with only the changed cells from the individual function sheets and now copy over an entire new child row? Thank you.

Have you explored using Reports or cross-sheet formulas instead?
