Copy column on one sheet to another column on another sheet (and update when new rows added)

Is there a way in Smartsheet to have Column A in sheet 1 automatically copied/linked over to Column A in sheet 2? We need consistent building names across 12 different sheets, but we want Sheet 1 to be the only place new building names are added. Is this possible?

What is the reason for spreading it out across 12 sheets?

There is Index Match formulas across the 12 sheets so if Column 1 on Sheet A is different than on Sheet B the Index Match formula will not work. We want a way to standardize Column 1 on all sheets to prevent typos.

Right. I understand that part. But why is it spread out across 12 different sheets to begin with as opposed to having all columns on a single sheet and using reports to present certain columns to certain groups?

It is over 500 columns and different departments are allowed to edit certain columns only. We broke it out into departmental sheets in the blueprint control center to limit the columns.
