Creating columns that grow sequentially

I have 3 helper columns [First #] [Second #] [Third #] that are growing sequentially to support another formula I have. While the first and third column should be equal in value, the second column must be one digit higher than the other two.

I have been manually entering the sequence but I would like a formula that will calculate the sequence on its own. I tried using the Auto Number column, but that will only count for rows that have data in them, I would like this column to go on forever basically!

Thank you in advance.

    Hey @sawuzie,

    Have you considred this formula:

    =1+[Second#]1

If you drag this formula over 2 rows then any addition rows will be updated with the formula automatically.

    I hope that helps.

Thank you for you response @Itai, is there a way I can convert this a column formula so that regardless if the sheet is updated or not, the numbers will already be present?

    Hey @sawuzie,

You dont need to convert it into a column formula.

If the formula is dragged over 2 or more rows, it will populate automatically when a new row in populated either from a form or manually.

So if I keep adding data to any column in a new row, it will automatically pull the formula down with it.

    I hope that is clear.
