How to have "latest comment" updates included in main comment thread?

Updates to the "latest comment" field/column that come in via a "request for update" automation are not included in the main comment thread. Is this intended or am I missing something?

Basically I want the update made by the assigned user to become the latest comment whether it came in via automation or via the traditional comment thread. Otherwise the comment thread is not complete.

The "latest comment" field is designed to pull the last row comment from the comments panel and display it on the sheet. It is not designed to go both ways, so entering data into that column will not push it to the regular comments panel.

So is there a way for a user to provide an "updated comment" via a form? Otherwise a user must have sheet access, and navigate the sheet itself, which is intimidating for most project team members that just need to provide an update on their assigned task.

If you select the option for Specific Fields when you are customizing the message in an Update Request, you can check the box to provide the Comments field.

Is there a way to have the "Latest Comment" Column show the full comment? Within the comments window, I have to select "More" to see the full comment, and that is translating over to my column. I want the team to be able to read the full comment from the "Latest Comment" column, instead of having to navigate to the comments section and then select more. Image Attached -left side shows the "..." in the actual column, and right side shows where I expand to read the full comment within the conversations window.
