Assigning tasks to an unlicensed person
An unlicensed person can be assigned tasks and informed of their completion. Can he/she use the task chat, in short, what can an unlicensed employee do or not do when assigning tasks?

The short, generalized version is that unlicensed users are not able to own Smartsheet items (sheets reports, dashboards, automations, etc.). What exactly do you mean by "task chat"?
-
Basically, I'm the only person on my team who has the SmartSheet license.
My question is : can i assign tasks to them and if they can receive them and notify me as soon as the task is completed ?If yes, How can i be notified ?

Hi @Ocean
I hope you're well and safe!
You could use the Update Request feature to assign and get them to let you know they are completed.

Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Hi @Starå,
Thank you for you precious help, it's shed a lot of light on my question.
Even if my team doesn't have a license, can they consult the sheet and let me know when their tasks are completed?
-
You can set up an Update Request automation, and your team can update the sheet themselves through the automation received. If you want to keep track of individual statuses being changed to completed, you can set up an Alert type automation to send to yourself with that being the trigger.

Happy to help!
Yes, you can use the Update Request feature, but also share the sheet or/and a report for them to see the status or be able to update the information.
Make sense? Would that work/help?
