Drag and drop cell links

I have a sheet with 12 month of rows and many rows with amounts across the months (i.e. sales projections). I want to summarize by month in another sheet. So in a different summary sheet, I use a sum formula in month 1 and link to the details sheet. Now I want to do this for each month. In Excel, I'd drag the cell and Excel would know that I am referencing the next column(month). When I do that in SmartSheets, it just uses the same link as the first. It doesn't attempt to adjust the links to their relative position.

Am I doing something wrong or how do I do this? It will take forever to do this a month at a time for all the details I need.

Unfortunately, it's the way it works.

You could either cell-link more cells simultaneously or use cross-sheet formulas instead.

Thanks. I hadn't realized I could select a range of cells and then link to a range of cells.
