Send an email to automatically create a form entry
We have created a Smartsheet form that guides staff through the process where they can request updates to our website, including adding new staff logins. Submitted forms are added to a dashboard.
In another system there is a process where staff fill out a form that starts the onboarding process for new employees.
Is there a way for that second system to send an email to Smartsheet that would create a row in our Smartsheet dashboard with the details of the submission? We would know the sender email and the subject of the email - those would be constants.
Otherwise, staff will need to fill out two separate forms to complete the onboarding process.

Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
Probably, yes. What's the other system?
The Smartsheet API or a 3rd-party service like Zapier can probably be used.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic weekend!

Thanks for your prompt response!
The other system is Form Assembly. That system sends the data to Salesforce and a bunch of triggers are run. It would also be possible to send an email from the submitted Form Assembly form to a specific email address with the contents of the form. If we could send it to Smartsheet and then have Smartsheet parse the data on the form to spoof a form submission, that would be best.

@Brian Robilotta is the data a CVS or excel? If so, you can set up a data shuttle and link the fields to the form as add as new.

@Brian Robilotta It might be worth looking at the Smartsheet Salesforce Connector if you need this data to ultimately end up in Salesforce!
