Report Builder
Hi everyone, Looking for some help with report building. In my sheet, I have a "Category" column. In that column, each row is assigned one of four values (Risk, Dependency, Issue, or Assumption). I want to have a chart widget on my dashboard that counts how many rows fall into each category. It's my understanding that this is easily done by building a report and then a widget that summarizes the data. How do I build a report that shows a sum of each category option instead of pulling in the column and providing a total sum as pictured below?
I need one row in the report that has the sum of each of the 4 categories

Grouping in the report. It is there between Filters and Summary in your first screenshot. And you are going to want a row report because you are pulling in rows from a sheet. The summary report pulls in from sheet summary fields.

Ideally, I'd like to build a report identical to below... My columns would read as: Risk, Issue, Assumption and Dependency instead of... "In-Progress", "Complete", etc.

You will need to group by category in addition to applying the report summary. Then you will be able to use the report to generate a chart.

Paul, Thank you! grouping by category.... that is in the report, or in the sheet connected to the report? Also, should I be using a row report or summary report?
