Is there a way to limit WHO can check off a checkbox on a grid-view of a smartsheet?

At issue: I've made a sheet that requires department heads to sign off, but I don't want to allow just anyone to check that box. It needs to come from the actual department affected.

@jblunda You can lock the column and make the Department Heads Admins to the sheet. They will be the only ones able to edit the check box column besides the sheet owner. The rest of the sheet users should be editors or viewers.

I only want the department head of one department to have the ability to check off their own department's check box. For instance, I don't want Maintenance to be to able to check off Quality's checkbox.

@jblunda you can use update requests then. The other option is Dynamic view per Department.

Never heard about the Dynamic view option. I'll respond to this thread when I take a peek.
