Why does the cell background color automatically turn to blue when inserting a new row?

Every time I insert a new row in the middle of my sheet, it turns the background color blue. I have to manually clear the formatting or change it back to automatic/white.

Is there something in my settings that makes new cells colored?

    Hi @hilaryjane

Did you upload an Excel spreadsheet to create that sheet? Sometimes uploads have hidden formatting between deleted rows that still exists in the background. If that's the case, then copy the data from the spreadsheet into a new spreadsheet and paste values (without any formatting). Then create a new sheet with that new spreadsheet.

If that's not the case, or if you are too far down the road with that Smartsheet, then sometimes you can play around with the conditional formatting to make everything standard again.

Those might not be the answers you were looking for, but that's how I've solved for that in the past. -Matt
