Can you copy parent row info to child rows within the same column?
I am trying to figure out a formula to autofill a few columns in a child row with information from the parent but can't figure out how to do it without creating new columns. Is it possible to do this within the same column?
The sheet is mostly used in card view so when team members add a subtask they will fill in the task column but not always go back to populate columns that designate the team and timecode to use for the task.

Hi @kendallmar
I hope you're well and safe!
Try something like this.
=PARENT()
Did that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

If you are looking for an exact pull down, you would be able to set:
=PARENT()
This will pull the exact data from the parent row in the same column.

Hi Colleen and Andree,
I had tried that previously but when applied to the column the formula removes everything from the column and ability to edit. Is there another work around?

As long as you have three or more cells with the same formatting and on the same level, it would work. Otherwise, you'd have to have helper columns.

Dang, was hoping to avoid creation of additional columns but will add in helper columns now. Thanks for your help!
