Enter Date DocuSign as sent

I have a sheet from which we are sending contracts via DocuSign. My users are not always reliable in entering the date they sent the contact so I have an idea I need help with.

Is it possible to put a formula in the Date Sent cell that will enter the data the DocuSign status was Sent. But does not change when the DocuSign status updates?

You could use a Workflow combined with the Store a date Action.

Happy to help!

You can add Tracking Columns which show the status of the DocuSign.

You can register when the status changes to Sent, for example.

Thank you for that information. Perhaps I didn't clarify my question properly.

I already do have a DocuSign tracking column called DocuSign status. I also have a date column called Contract Sent.

My issue is that my users don't always put in the date the contract was sent. What I'd like to do is put a formula in the Contact Sent column that when the DocuSign Status column turns to Sent, it puts the date in the Contract Sent column. However, I don't want that date to change as the DocuSign Status column changes.

Perhaps there is a better way to get the date sent recorded (other than the users entering it), and I'm open to ideas, but it is the date I want, not the status.

Does that make sense?

That's what I meant. Use a Workflow that triggers when the Tracking Column changes to Sent and have it trigger the Store a date Action in the Contract Sent column.
