Quick questions about Global udpates.

1) If a column name is changed in the blueprint via global updates, do all reports using the column have to be changed manually to replace the defunt column with the new one , or can global updates be used to update the report with the new column in the template folder and thereby all reports get updated?

2)Can new created reports in a template forlder be propagated across existing projects with global udpates?

I have not done those so often, but here is what I know.😅 I advise you to experiment with small demo projects until you feel confident.

1) It is possible, but you must do that cautiously. It involves two-step updates.

2) It is possible. Add the report to the blueprint and use the Global Update Reports.

The following is on the more complex 1) change-column-name & update reports process.

You get a warning like the image below. Updating column names will affect reports' column selection, filters, etc. (if you use the column).

As stated in the help article below, you can also use Global Updates to update a report when you’ve changed the column name/type or added a new column to a sheet that’s used in that report.

You must first update the blueprint to include updated reports. You must be very cautious if you have multiple reports in a blueprint, as changing a sheet's column name can affect places in reports.
