Problem of using Record a date

Hi Team,

I build a workflow so that I can record the date when another field is marked as "Completed", exactly the same purpose as the sample in the Learning Center (see link below)

yet, when the workflow is triggered, it marks all the records with the current date, including the ones which are not marked as "Completed". is it expected? or, something wrong in my workflow setup.

I expect it only puts the date to the record which is marked with "Completed"

    Your expectation is completely reasonable and what usually happens. Can you share a screen shot of your work flow? We might be able to spot something.

    Disappointingly, I do not see a glaring error there.

    I set up the same workflow just to be sure and have no issues.

    So, maybe it is something in the data? My data looks like this:

    Do you have any formula or anything else going on in the Status column?

    Is there another, maybe hidden, column that is like status?

    The condition option on the automation allows you to add a filter to restrict the date change to the rows that have a complete status. But that should not be necessary and won’t stop previously completed rows from being updated to a new date.

    I hope you're well and safe!

    Are you triggering it manually through the Workflow? That triggers it for all rows and doesn't reference the trigger criteria.

    Was that the issue?
